Jefferson c1904 Iris with Meander Vaseline Yellow Glass Compote Scallop Opal Rim

c1904 EAPG Jefferson Glass Vaseline Yellow "Iris and Meander" Compote with Scallop Opal White Rim. This beautiful yellow Vaseline glass compote has a scalloped rim edge in an opalescent opaque white. It is smooth inside and outside has melon shaped sections and cut-out rib sections with glass buttons. Large smooth flat circles are just under the scalloped edge. Stem has 8 panels and foot has detailing designs. This uranium glass compote glows beautifully under black light. Excellent condition. No chips, cracks, or wear. A few straw marks and a few light small scratches which is normally seen with antique glass. Measure 4 1/2" T x 4 1/2" Dia bowl x 3" base. Weight 10 oz.
Jefferson Glass, Steubenville-Ohio/Follansbee-WV (Operated: 1900-1930). Compote was introduced in 1904. Pattern AKA: Fleur-de-Lis; Iris and Meander; Iris With Meander. The pattern was originally called No. 400 but Jefferson changed the name to Iris because another company was selling a No. 400 pattern already.
