This is an authentic, hand painted print of John James Audubon’s Shore Lark from his book Birds In America originally published in 1840. The print is matted and framed within a gold colored wooden frame with an inscription on the back of the print that reads as follows:
“Audubon Bird Print
This print is genuine hand colored Audubon bird print from the first edition of Birds In America, published by Audubon in 1840.”
The print itself is in great condition and considering it’s popularity and age, it has survived surprisingly with only minor ware and discoloration. This unbelievably beautiful example of Victorian era art will surely compliment the decor of any home, while remaining an actual print of one of the most celebrated works of Americana art of all time!
