Edward Donovan (1768-1837) was an Anglo-Irish naturalist and artist best known for his remarkable natural-history collections and the books he based on them. The Natural History of British Birds was comprised of five volumes. Donovan drew, engraved, and hand-colored each of the 244 plates using watercolors and gouache.
Condition: fair - includes toning, age-related staining, pencil writing lower left and a paper inclusion under the glass. Frame has wear. Please use photos as a guide.
